Not only is it an enjoyable and inexpensive method of transportation, but it is also an excellent opportunity to get to know locals and take in the sights of the area. The staff at South Beach Scooter Rentals has put together an essential guide to scooter rental for our customers

The benefits of scooter rentals

In recent years, renting a scooter has become an increasingly common way for people to get around in cities. They are a means to travel that is not only easy on the wallet but also kind to the environment, and they provide many other advantages over more conventional modes of transport. Renting a scooter can assist you in evading traffic jams, saving money on parking fees, and lessening your overall impact on the environment. They are also a wonderful opportunity to get some exercise and discover a new city at the same time. Come talk to us at South Beach Scooter Rentals if you are thinking about renting a scooter; we will be able to select the scooter that is the most suitable for you

How to find the best scooter rental for your needs

When looking for a place to hire a scooter, there are a lot of different things to take into consideration. You should look for a rental company that has a good reputation, has reasonable rates, and has a scooter that is suitable for your requirements in order to get the most out of your experience. To begin, you will need to make a decision regarding the kind of scooter that would best suit your needs. Do you want to rent a basic scooter to get around town, or do you need a more rugged scooter for trips off the beaten path? When you have determined the type of scooter that would best meet your needs, you can next begin researching rental businesses. Before committing to a rental, you should make it a point to study reviews online and always make sure to ask about costs, services, and cancellation policies.

You just need to do a little bit of research in order to get the ideal scooter. We provide all of the aforementioned and more; please don’t hesitate to get in touch with our staff so that we can address any concerns or queries you might have.

How to get the most out of your scooter rental

There are a few things you can do to ensure that you get the most out of your scooter rental if you are going to be taking a trip in the near future. First things first, before signing any rental agreement, make sure you read all the fine print and become familiar with all of the terms and conditions. Secondly, before you go for a ride on the scooter, make sure you give it a thorough inspection by checking all of its components, including the tires, the brakes, and the mirrors, to ensure that they are in good working order. Our team at South Beach Scooter Rentals will assist you with this inspection. Thirdly, before going full throttle on the scooter, make sure to ease into it by going slow and getting a feel for how it handles before increasing your speed. When using the scooter, make sure to wear protective gear. This includes a helmet, pads for the knees, elbows, and wrists.  When you are finished using the scooter, make sure to park it in a place where it is not only safe but also legal. You can make your time spent riding a rented scooter both safe and enjoyable if you pay attention to the advice in this article and put it into practice.

What to do if You Have a Problem with Your Scooter

In the event that you are having issues with your scooter, the first thing you need to do is get in contact with the company that you rented from. In this instance, this would be our company and we will be able to assist you in analyzing the situation and determining whether or not it is covered by the warranty. Even if the issue is not covered by the warranty, we would still be able to assist you in resolving it or point you in the right direction.
In the unlikely event that you are unable to get in touch with us or we are unable to assist, you can find helpful advice from experienced scooter riders on a wide variety of websites and forums that are dedicated to the topic of scooters.

Unique South Beach Boutiques for Holiday Shopping

South Beach is known as a destination for wild parties, beautiful people, freedom of expression, and art. But it’s also known as an incredible shopping destination, with unique boutiques that you won’t find anywhere else in the world! You can almost certainly find the perfect gift for everyone on your list at one of these shops and boutiques.

Washington Avenue: A Quintessential South Beach Experience

If you’re looking for items that you won’t be able to find anywhere else, then head to Washington Avenue. Almost all of the boutiques along this street are independently owned, and many of them even manufacture their own wares.

Some of our favorites include Reggae Wear, to bring a taste of beach life home, and Star Image, where everything from shoes to dresses is blinged out. Don’t forget to rest your feet by dining at one of the dozens of delicious independent eateries in the area.

Bayside Marketplace

Located on the Bay, this massive collection of shops, restaurants, and attractions allows you to enjoy the warm air and refreshing ocean breezes while you meander through shops of all kinds, from national brands to unique and independently owned.

Check out I LUV MIAMI for kitschy souvenirs, or visit Le Bowtique for one-of-a-kind and unusual accessories for all ages and genders. You’ll also find some extraordinary experiences, such as Thriller speedboat tours and Skyviews Miami Observation Wheel.

Lincoln Road Mall

While Lincoln Road is home to many of the traditional mall stores, such as Aerie, 7 for All Mankind, and the Banana Republic, it also has some unique stores that make it well worth a visit.

These include a Flip Flop Shop, perfect for any Floridian (or wanna-be resident of the Sunshine State!). There’s also Osklen, a US-based sustainable clothing line dedicated to bettering communities and the environment. And don’t miss Zadig and Voltaire, a French clothing and accessories company whose philanthropic arm, Art is Hope, has made a significant impact in the lives of hundreds of aspiring artists.

For the Luxury Seeker, Head to Miami Design District

If you have someone on your list who swoons for high fashion, or if you want to spoil someone with a luxury item, then the Miami Design District is a must-visit destination. With stores such as Dior, Hermes, Burberry, Tom Ford, and many more, virtually every high fashion designer has a home here.

What’s more, walking around the Design District is a delight for your senses. Modern art peeks around every corner, with major installations and small touches everywhere.

Get Around Easily With A South Beach Scooter Rental

Especially during the holiday season, traffic and parking can be tricky in South Beach. The gorgeous weather, fun atmosphere, and abundant shopping opportunities draw visitors from around the globe. The easiest way to get around is with a Miami Beach scooter rental from Scooter Style. 8 Best Thanksgiving Spots in South Beach

Whether you live in Miami and are sticking around for the holiday or visiting relatives in the area, the party doesn’t stop for Thanksgiving. We’ve got the best spots for a pre-dinner brunch, after-dinner cocktails, or the big meal itself.

Best Thanksgiving Brunches

Amara at Paraiso

You could certainly skip the traditional turkey and indulge instead in fresh Miami seafood offerings at Amara at Paraiso’s Thanksgiving brunch. Best of all, they’re offering all-you-can-drink champagne cocktails. Enjoy the sunshine and sounds of the water while getting well-lubricated for dealing with Aunt Karen later.

The Rusty Pelican

Situated on beautiful Biscayne Bay, The Rusty Pelican’s brunch starts early at 10 am, so you have plenty of time to enjoy their modern takes on classic dishes before attending your family gathering. We love the banana french toast as well as the quintessentially Miami raw bar.

Thanksgiving Dinner, Miami Style

Yardbird Southern Table and Bar

This favorite Miami Beach restaurant proves that they know how to do Thanksgiving. They have all the classics done with southern spins, such as an appetizer of Charleston she-crab soup with pimento straws. Then indulge in the bird cooked by the chicken experts themselves while sipping specialty cocktails designed just for the day.

Gianni’s at the Versace Mansion

If you’re captivated by Miami Beach glam, you have to have your Thanksgiving at Gianni’s, located in the former Versace Mansion. Sip expertly-made cocktails and enjoy upscale takes on traditional Thanksgiving food while gazing at the 24-carat gold inlaid swimming pool and other opulent surroundings.

The Surf Club

If you want a genuinely classy yet traditional Thanksgiving meal, then make reservations for The Surf Club. This masterpiece of a restaurant from Thomas Keller will offer multiple courses along with delicious spins on Thanksgiving classics, like buttermilk whipped potatoes and turkey breast with confit leg and sage gravy.

Best Post-Feast Drinks

MiniBar

This quaint spot serves up unique cocktails in a calmer, more intimate setting. It’s perfect for escaping a rowdy, noisy family gathering and unwinding like a real grown-up.

Mac’s Club Deuce

Mac’s has you covered from 8 am Thanksgiving morning until 5 am the day after, so whether you need to loosen up before your family gathering or need to dance the night away after feasting on classic turkey and stuffing, head their way.

Wall Lounge Miami Beach

If you need to seriously let loose and party after your family’s get-together, or even just looking to completely escape any Thanksgiving traditions, head to Wall. The party starts late at 11:30 pm, giving you plenty of time to nap off your feast, and goes until 5 am.

Get There On A Miami Beach Scooter Rental

No matter where you want to go or how you plan to get there, stop by Scooter Style the Wednesday before or reserve your ride online. That way, you can quickly and simply navigate the all-day Thanksgiving traffic and always have an easy time finding parking.

5 Ways To Save Money In Miami: Stretch Your Vacation Budget and Do More

If you’re planning a vacation to Miami, you’re guaranteed to have a fantastic experience. With so much to do and see, your biggest problem will be narrowing your list of activities.

Even though Miami, South Beach in particular, has a reputation for being expensive, there are many ways to save money. Let’s take a look at five fool-proof ideas to stretch your vacation budget and do more while you’re here.

Save on Reliable Transportation

One of the most significant expenses that many people incur while traveling is getting around. Uber and Lyft trips add up fast, and car rentals and parking, especially in crowded South Beach, are also quite costly.

Scooter Style has the perfect solution. You can rent an efficient and stylish scooter right in South Beach for a day or the duration of your stay. Not only is it very affordable, but you’ll also save on gas and save a lot of time by not sitting in traffic. And with the open air ride, you’ll get to see, feel, and smell all that our city has to offer!

Speaking of transportation, be sure to look at flying into Fort Lauderdale airport (FLL). It isn’t much further than Miami International and often has better deals on domestic flights.

Book a Boutique Hotel

While the glamour of the Art Deco accommodations on Ocean Drive is appealing, you can save a boat-load of money by moving just a few blocks off the main drag. What’s more, some of these charming boutique hotels have better theming and customer service.

Spend a Day on the Beach

There’s nothing more quintessentially South Beach than the beach itself. Be sure to spend a day, or part of several days, lounging in style on the sand. Enjoy free beach activities or just take in the entertainment of people-watching. Haulover Park, Lummus Park Beach, South Beach, South Pointe Park, and Surfside offer free beach access.

Sample Food Trucks

Eating out is one of the other major expenses you incur while vacationing anywhere. With an abundance of delectable and unique dining opportunities (not to mention drinking opportunities), this can add up quickly.

One of the best ways to save money on food and drink is to eat at food trucks. There’s a serious food truck culture in the city, and some of the top restaurants in the area started as meager food trucks before establishing brick-and-mortar eateries.

For specific spots, check out Eater Miami’s list of cheap eats around the city.

Try Out Free Events

There are tons of free or low-cost events all the time in Miami.

Enjoy complimentary yoga classes almost every day in Bayfront Park. Biscayne National Park is also home to mangrove forests, and there are coral reefs and uninhabited islands to explore in the area.

If the art scene is more your style, the Coral Gables Museum has Twilight Fridays from 6-10pm on the first Friday of every month. Admission is free and there’s a cash bar and live music. For authentic Cuban culture, don’t miss the Viernes Culturales (Cultural Fridays) on the third Friday of each month on Calle Ocho in Little Havana. A free music, arts, and culture festival, this event has been going strong for more than 20 years!

Looking to live on the edge? Thrillist also has a guide to sneaking into some of the area’s poshest pools.

Of course, one of the best things to do in Miami is simply to see the city. From the vibrant downtown to the Art Deco oceanfront and everything in between, Miami is a sight to behold in and of itself. Remember, there’s no better way to do that than with a scooter rental from Scooter Style!

Which Scooter Rental Should I Pick?

If you’re considering using a scooter to get around Miami on your upcoming vacation, you’ll fit right in. Locals and visitors alike love to zip around tourists and traffic on these fun and efficient vehicles.

Choosing the right one for your needs, though, can be an overwhelming decision. After all, there are a lot of options. Let’s take a look at some of the top names: Boom, Iceberg, Tao Tao, Tmax, and Vespa so you can make an informed decision. If you still have questions, feel free to reach out to the experts at Scooter Style.

Style Versus Efficiency

As with most things in life, there’s a balancing act between how cool you want to look while cruising and the efficiency of the scooter you choose. Some of our most stylish scooters include Boom scooters (especially in yellow) and the Tmax 500. The most classic, of course, is the Vespa.

Boom scooters are also super sleek, compact, and fast. If you like to zip in and out or want more of a thrill, that might be your best option.

Go the Distance?

If you plan to really get out and explore the area beyond South Beach, you might want something more on the efficient side when it comes to gas mileage. If so, then our Tao Tao models might be your best fit. They come in a range of styles and colors and consistently outperform their competitors when it comes to getting the most out of a tank of gasoline.

Carrying “Stuff”

South Beach is well known for its unique boutiques and shopping opportunities. If you plan to make the most of them on your vacation, then you might want a scooter that can carry packages. Most brands have clever compartments to put your stuff in, but two of the best are the Iceberg and Tao Tao Evo.

Carrying Passengers

If you’re traveling with someone else, you might want to both ride on the same scooter to save money and enjoy the scenes together. The Tmax 500 has an extra long seat that’s designed to accommodate two people comfortably.

In addition, Vespa scooters are well known for comfortably seating two people. The sight of two people holding onto each other on a Vespa is a classic couples’ moment–definitely Instagram worthy!

Parking

Wondering about parking your scooter? Scooter parking is abundant in South Beach, and you can also park in motorcycle and regular vehicle spots. Unfortunately, you can’t just park a motorized scooter anywhere (in the same way that you can park a bicycle). Each of the models we carry are equally compact and easy to park in any designated spot.

Have Fun!

Whichever scooter you choose, remember that it’s a rental and not a long-term purchase. If you’ve browsed our website and something caught your eye, go for it! You’re on vacation, and it’s time to indulge.

If you need help choosing a scooter rental, give us a call and describe your ideal experience. One of our experts can help advise you on your options. Or feel free to stop by and pick one out from our showroom in person!

Miami Beach Pride Returns in September

The year 2020 and the COVID-19 pandemic took a lot away from all of us. For the LGBTQ+ community of Miami and all of their supporters, Pride was one of the beloved events that had to be foregone for the sake of public safety.

Lucky for all of us, though, Pride is back this fall! Let’s look at some essentials of attending Miami Beach Pride, including what to expect and how to get around.

What Is Miami Beach Pride?

Pride 2021 is a nine-day celebration of queer identity and love held from September 10 through September 19. Two stages host world-class performers and DJs who come to stand in solidarity, and the parade is known worldwide. There are events held daily and nightly, including a gala and hundreds of vendors.

Obviously, Pride began as and is still primarily for the LGBTQ+ community, but allies and supporters are welcome to attend as well. Pride is for anyone who believes that love is love and that everyone owns their individual identity.

What to Expect at Miami Beach Pride

Miami Beach Pride is an experience unlike any other! It’s important to know what to expect in order to get the most out of your time. Here are some of the essential things to know:

  • It will be very crowded; embrace it! Lots of Pride patrons say that the crowd is energizing. Still, we know it might be a bit of a shock after all this time spent in quarantine.
  • Be ready to wait for restaurants, a bottle of water at a gas station, the bathroom, and everything else. Many people will be descending in the area, which will stretch its resources. Be prepared and find ways to keep yourself entertained.
  • Have an open mind, of course. This event is a chance for everyone to show off the beauty of their unique identity.
  • You can’t do and see everything. Even if you spent the entire nine days in South Beach, you still wouldn’t be able to visit all the vendors, see all the shows, and experience everything. Browse the website before you come and pick your must-dos.

How Will You Get Around?

One of the reasons that Miami Beach Pride had to be canceled for two years during the pandemic is because it is a very crowded event. That means that you have to think and plan ahead about accessing the things you need, including transportation.

Given that streets are so crowded and several are closed by the city, a scooter rental from Scooter Style is the perfect solution. You’ll be able to zip through the throngs of revelers and quickly get to all of the fabulous events. And, you can snag all the tight parking spots where cars can’t fit.

Be sure to reserve your scooter early, as inventory is limited, especially during Pride. If you’re planning multiple trips to Miami, don’t miss some of the other returning events like the Miami Marathon and Half Marathon, Carnaval, and Food Network and Cooking Channel South Beach Wine and Food Festival.

Hottest New Restaurants in Miami Beach in 2021

Miami Beach is well-known as one of the trendiest places in the world. As such, it’s always big news when a delicious new restaurant opens. We’ve compiled a list of the six hottest recently-opened restaurants in Miami Beach. Hop on your South Beach scooter rental, try all six, and choose your favorite!

Casa Isola Osteria

Located in Sunset Harbor, local celebrity chef and five-time James Beard Award winner Jose Mendin opened this restaurant. It’s an Italian restaurant that showcases fresh ingredients and old-world scratch-made recipes.

Mendin has partnered with Brooklyn-born chef Santo Agnello, who has been one of the masterminds behind Lucali’s pizza. They’ve drawn on Agnello’s background as well as the location’s history; it’s the former home of Pubbelly, a perennial favorite.

Casa Isola is open for dinner Tuesdays through Sundays. The menu features a variety of dishes for every course, including a dedicated pasta section.

Benh Mi

Benh Mi is truly a COVID-19 success story. Its owners started selling classic Vietnamese Banh mi sandwiches on Instagram during the pandemic. They were so good that the venture ballooned into this brick-and-mortar restaurant located off Espanola Way.

At its heart, it’s a sandwich shop, but Benh Mi features several other classic Vietnamese dishes as well as twists on favorites. These include the char siu mushroom Banh mi sandwich, green papaya salad, and vegetable spring rolls.

Benh Mi’s owners pride their business on using local suppliers and farmers for their recipes. They’re also a sustainable eatery.

Strawberry Moon

Strawberry Moon is the newest addition from restaurateurs and entertainers Pharrell Williams and David Grutman, and it’s nothing if not unique. This location has an outdoor pool with a party atmosphere during the day and then transforms into a restaurant and trendy lounge in the evenings and late into the night.

The fact that Strawberry Moon manages to pull all of that off and still wow us with their menu of upscale Mediterranean food says a lot.

Carbone

Carbone has been serving classic Italian-American food in New York City since 2012, and it has finally arrived for us in Miami Beach. Everything at Carbone–from the decor to the service to the food–will make you feel like you’ve stumbled into an old-school mobster film.

If you want to try for yourself, make sure you plan ahead. Reservations book out at least a month and are virtually impossible to get.

Abbale Telavivian Kitchen

Located in the South of Fifth neighborhood, Abbale Telavivian Kitchen is a Mediterranean and Middle Eastern eatery and cafe. While it was founded by the team that opened such restaurants as Pura Vida, it is as close to an authentic Israeli restaurant that you’ll find outside of the country itself.

Como Como

Last but certainly not least is Como Como, located on the Moxy South Beach ground floor. The menu focuses primarily on high-end Mexican seafood. It’s open for dinner Wednesdays through Sundays, and the menu features exciting flavors and dishes on a constantly updated menu.

Wherever you choose to eat, arrive in style and ease on one of Scooter Style’s Miami Beach scooter or golf cart rentals. Call or visit online to reserve yours now.

COVID-19 Update: What To Expect When Traveling To Miami This Spring

We’re a year past the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, and many people are excited to resume travel! If you’re headed to Miami this spring, here’s what you need to know about the city’s current guidelines and restrictions.

Midnight Curfew Has Been Lifted!!

For the past year, Miami residents and visitors have been under a strict midnight curfew. Naturally, this has taken a toll on the city’s economy as nightlife has always been an integral part of Miami’s culture.

As of Monday, April 12th, the curfew has been lifted and club-goers can once again party the night away.

City Mayor, Daniella Levine Cava says the decision to relax restrictions was based on data as hospitalizations, positivity rates, and deaths have gone down in Miami-Dade county.

Businesses Are Open

Unless a business owner is choosing to stay closed, ALL types of businesses are open and able to operate at 100% capacity, with restrictions. Businesses must continue to practice social distancing, and facial coverings must be worn while indoors except while eating or drinking.

Open businesses include:

  • Beaches and pools – the use of floats or inflatables remains prohibited
  • Hotels
  • Restaurants
  • Parks and outdoor activities
  • Attractions and amusement parks
  • Tours and sightseeing activities
  • Banquet and convention spaces
  • Entertainment venues
  • Malls, stores, and retail shops
  • Spa and wellness facilities
  • Nightclubs
  • Public transportation – facial coverings must be worn

Facial Coverings Required

The city is continuing to stress the importance of facial coverings to reduce the spread of the virus. According to Miami Visitors Bureau website

  • Masks/facial coverings are required if you are indoors.
  • Masks are required on all public transportation.
  • Masks/facial coverings are not required for people who are outdoors if they are standing at least 10 feet apart from other people or engaged in strenuous physical activity outdoors, if social and physical distancing can be guaranteed.

International Travelers

For visitors from outside of the U.S., the following Federal travel restrictions apply:

  • Non-U.S. travelers who have recently visited Brazil, the United Kingdom, Ireland and 26 countries in Europe (the Schengen Area) may not enter the U.S. at this time.
  • The Federal Government requires that all travelers to the U.S. produce proof of a recent negative test for COVID-19 test prior to entry and within three days before their flights.

Always Call Ahead

In an ever-changing post-pandemic environment, it’s always smart to call ahead to businesses and make sure they’re open and ask about any restrictions. Websites don’t always reflect the most up to date information. To maximize fun and minimize disruptions to your Miami vacation, nothing beats a good old fashioned phone call to check availability!
